The new VOX400 has a network interface which means that in addition to its hardwire inputs you can trigger it to play messages by remote control software over a LAN or the internet.
Each VOX400 is supplied with free software called VoxPlayer Lite which supports basic play functions but not scheduled playing of messages.
This simple Windows program allows an operator to manually trigger the playing of a particular sound file by one of three VOX400 VoiceOff units. The software is preloaded with file information about the six default sounds that ship with the VOX400 but an operator may add new records up to the maximum 9999 files. Three buttons on the user interface can be programmed with individual device details and a friendly name given to each in order to distinguish between them. The software supports units attached locally via serial port (your PC may need a suitable RS232-to-RS485 or USB-to-RS485 adapter) and network attached units via Ethernet. It is backwards compatible with the older VoiceOFF units but be aware that VOX300 and earlier were serial port only.
