NVRs and DVRs - Cameras - How to Add Third (3rd) Party IP Cameras - PDF / HTML

Can I remotely view and control my Zip CCTV camera system over the internet using my mobile iOS device?
The FREE Zip CCTV iOS app available in the Apple App Store allows you to view your cameras and control your NVR from anywhere in the world. Just search for "ZipVision" on the App Store.

You'll need to make sure your Zip NVR or DVR has been networked and setup for remote viewing then simply enter its information and you're good to go.
How can I remotely view and control my Zip CCTV camera system over the internet using my mobile android device?
The FREE Zip CCTV android app available in the Google Play Store allows you to view your cameras and control your NVR from anywhere in the world. Just search for "ZipVision" on the Play Store.

You'll need to make sure your Zip NVR or DVR has been networked and setup for remote viewing then simply enter its information and you're good to go.
What internet speed do I need stream live video from a Zip NVR or DVR?
The quality of image you can stream depends on your available bandwidth and the bit rate of the live images you are trying to view. For best results we recommend setting the DVR/NVR's sub-stream to CIF @ 12fps which requires 256kb/s per channel in live view.

If you have a high speed internet connection you can increase the stream quality and frame rate to suit your needs. A 720p 12fps image for example would require roughly 2MB/s per channel.

How do I choose whether the live stream is public, private or unlisted?

You can choose the visibility of a live stream by going to the video settings, Visibility and selecting from the dropdown menu, Public, Unlisted or Private.

What is the difference between a public, private and unlisted Livestream?

Public: Anybody can watch the live stream and comment. The live stream can be found on the YouTube channel once it has ended to rewatch and add comments.

Unlisted: Anybody with a link can watch the live stream and comment. The video cannot be found listed on the YouTube channel. Those with a link can rewatch and comment.

How does the ZIP NVR/DVR connect to YouTube?

The ZIP NVRs and DVRs can connect to YouTube using RTMP. Which stands for Real-Time Messaging Protocol.

This is configured in the menu on the recorders in - Network > Platform Access > RTMP, the information which is entered into the DVRs and NVRs can be found in your YouTube account in the "Studio dashboard".

Enable RTMP, then get the Server Address. This is your YouTube "Stream URL" and "Stream key".

How do I finish the live stream once the event is finished?

There is a "End Stream" stop button which can be selected once your stream has been made live. Navigate to the YouTube "Control Room" in Studio to end the stream.
