Ensure all the cameras connected to your recorder have unique names in the ZIP recorder before adding them to the App. The camera could be named "driveway", so your command would be 'Alexa, show the driveway camera'. You do not need to put 'camera' at the end of your unique names in your ZIP recorder. You say 'camera' at the end of your command. Otherwise, Alexa will search the internet for driveways.
- In the DVR/ NVR go to Network > Voice Assist > Amazon. Enter the Amazon account email address into the User field. Make sure that this account and the account bound to the device are the same accounts. Click Blind, then Apply.
- Install the Amazon Alexa App from the Google Play / App Store. On the app home screen click ‘More’ and then ‘Skills & Games’
- Click search icon
- Search Smart camera
- Select ‘Smart Camera View'
- Select ‘Security System'
- Select 'Discover Devices'
- Devices > Camera will now list the cameras connected. Speak to the Amazon Echo Show to show the camera.
For example 'Alexa show the driveway camera'
Note - an Alexa device with a screen is needed to integrate this into a security system. To link your Zip recorder with the Amazon Alexa app to watch CCTV the Alexa Echo Show is required.
