Allows CCTV installers to carry out a password reset of Compatible Alien DVRs without having to return the DVR to us. Please see the description below for compatible units.
The Kit contains software (for Windows®) on a USB memory device and leads to connect a laptop or PC to compatible Alien DVRs to enable a factory reset of the DVR's admin password. The software requires no installation beforehand, it can run directly from the memory stick. Each reset requires you to enter a date specific code, we can supply these over the phone either on the day, or in advance for the recorder in question.
Purchasing the kit entitles you to one password reset code. Please purchase reset codes as and when required for any subsequent Alien DVR.

Note: This kit is not compatible with Alien Ultra, Alien EKO and older recorders.
The reset procedure requires you to connect a Windows PC or laptop to the recorder via a serial port (and potentially a LAN cable for very recent models), the software issues a reset command to the unit, or, reflashes its firmware back to a factory default state.
During this procedure you will be prompted to enter a six digit reset code, you should contact System Q in advance quoting the recorder's serial number requesting this code. We can generate codes in advance for any specific date allowing you to perform resets at the weekend if necessary.
