Allows CCTV installers to carry out a password reset of Compatible Alien DVRs without having to return the DVR to us. The reset can be carried out on-site to minimise disruption to the end-user.
The Kit contains software (for Windows®) on a USB memory device and leads to connect a laptop or PC to compatible Alien DVRs to enable a factory reset of the DVR's admin password. The software requires no installation beforehand, it can run directly from the memory stick, however, if using the USB-to-Serial adapter provided you will need to install its Windows® driver. For security reasons even after you have purchased the Kit you will need to obtain a reset code, you enter this into the software to reset the DVR's password. This code varies for each DVR and is only valid for 1 day. This helps prevents fraud, malicious hacking, or altering of DVRs without the genuine owner's consent.
The Kit contains the connection leads and software (for Windows®) and one password reset code. To reset subsiqent alien DVRs you will have to purchase a reset code.
Simply follow the instructions supplied with the Kit and connect your Laptop with the leads supplied to the DVR. Once the software has detected the DVR please contact System Q Ltd's technical department quoting the information that the software displays back to you on-screen.
The System Q Tech team will then generate a 'reset code' that will reset the DVR's password once entered into the software. The reset code will only be valid for use on the date specifi ed after which it will expire. The Technical team can generate a reset code for any date you specify, this allows you to perform the reset on that day.
