HDMI EXTENDER OVER CAT5/6/IP 1080P Transmitter

This is the TX transmitter which pairs with the HDM261 RX receiver – alternatively you can purchase a TX and RX pair using the code HDM260.

The transmitter is the source end of the HDMI Mule Pro system. Connect it to the HDMI output of your DVR, NVR or PC, plug in a network cable, and it sends the video – plus USB mouse and keyboard control – to a HDMI Mule Pro receiver elsewhere on the cable run or network. Keep the recorder locked safely away in a server room or cupboard, and view and control it from a screen somewhere far more convenient.

The most common reason to buy this transmitter on its own is to add another video source to an existing HDMI Mule Pro system – a second NVR, a Freeview box, or a demo recorder – so any receiver on the network can switch between them. Where more than one transmitter is present, the free HDMI Mule Pro app (Android & iOS) is used to choose which source each screen displays – simply drag the transmitter icon onto the receiver on your phone screen and it switches within seconds. The system supports up to 256 transmitters, and each can be given a friendly name in the app (e.g. "Demo NVR"), retained through power cycles.

A single transmitter can also feed multiple screens at once: every receiver on the network displays the same source simultaneously, with up to 256 receivers supported – ideal for showing one NVR output in reception, the office and the warehouse.

Connection is flexible: link the transmitter directly to a receiver with a single ethernet cable (no switch needed), or connect both through a network switch – the most popular method, giving up to twice the distance of a direct link. Expect approximately 80m over CAT5, 100m over CAT5E and up to 120m over CAT6. With just one transmitter on the network there's nothing to configure – plug in and the link is made automatically.

USB ports on the transmitter connect to your source device, carrying mouse, keyboard and touchscreen control from the receiver end back to the recorder – full hands-on control from the other side of the building.

Network tip: On busier networks use a Gigabit switch with IGMP multicast support to prevent flooding – e.g. the Netgear GS305E, which has IGMP enabled by default.

Please note: The HDM260 range replaces the HDM220 range and is not backwards compatible – this transmitter will not work with HDM216/HDM220 receivers. It can be mixed with the 4K HDM270 range, with resolution limited to 1080p
